Safety device for you and your aquarium. The ground probe is designed to absorb electricity in your aquarium. Stray voltage occurs in your aquarium from electrical devices in your tank such as pumps, lighting, and heaters. You might feel a small shock when you put your hands in the water. Or a big one! The ground probe takes the stray current inside your tank and directs it to the ground through the probe. Plug the round metal piece into the round female hold of a grounded wall outlet in your house and submerge the suction cup and attached wire in your aquarium. Stray current will travel up the wire into the grounded outlet.
